In this video I take a look at the ATAboy, an open-source USB interface designed to work with old ATA/IDE hard drives, including early CHS-only drives that many modern USB adapters simply can't access.
I test it with an old hard drive that I've previously been unable to read using a normal USB adapter, walk through ATAboy's configuration and settings, and use it to access the drive from a modern computer. I also try a newer, much larger IDE drive to see how well it handles hardware beyond the ancient stuff it was primarily designed for.
